Top Tip 1 – Choosing a gift
Depending on which gift you are interested in, a different amount of referrals will be required. For example, if you want an iPod shuffle 2Gb, you will only require 2 referrals, whereas if you are looking for a ps3, you will require 10 referrals. A referral is when someone signs up via your referral link and completes an offer. Therefore it is recommended that you start with a smaller gift to understand the concept and what is required. Once you have done this you can move onto bigger gifts. (A MacBook Air is a whopping 50 referrals!)
Top Tip 2 – Completing offers
There are many different offers available, with different ones depending on which gift you want. Each offer will have some conditions which must be met in order to have successfully completed the offer. Here are a couple of examples:
Lovefilm: To complete this offer sign up to the 2 week free trial and rent at least 1 DVD. – This offer is an example of a free offer, as the trial is completely free and the condition is that 1 DVD is received.
Coral: To complete this offer simply register with Coral, deposit £5 or more, and wager through the entire amount. – As you can see this offer technically costs money, however there are no conditions as to what you have to bet on. Choose something with low odds, e.g. Man Utd to win at home, and you’ve got a good chance of returning your money with a small profit!
Top Tip 3 – Read the rules!
This is a very important one that too many people don’t pay attention to. Whatever you are signing up to, read the Terms and Conditions!!! If possible save them and even print them off so that you have something to refer to if you are unsure. There are three main things to be aware of:
1. The terms of the gift site. Please read these as there are some important ones that people often break. Firstly do not have multiple accounts or try and sign up to your own link. They are able to trace accounts via the IP address so this also means that no-one else can sign up to your link from the same address.
2. The terms of the offer. As mentioned above it is important that you are aware of what the criteria are for you to be credited with an offer. If you sign up but do not fulfill all of the terms then you will not get credit.
3. The terms and conditions of signing up to the offer. Obviously each offer you sign up to will require you to have an account with a third party (Lovefilm, Coral, etc.) Please read the terms and conditions of these sites aswell to make sure you are aware of the costs and, in the case of betting firms, what the conditions are on withdrawls.
Top Tip 4 – Getting referrals
There are many ways to get referrals, the two main ones are asking friends and family and trading with other freebie hunters.
If you are going to ask friends and family then use websites like this one to help convince them it is not a scam. Other websites in the links section are good for this as well. Also, as mentioned above, family who you live with will not be able to sign up to your link as they are limited to one offer per household.
Trades can be done via forums and involve you signing up to someone else’s link in return for you signing up to theirs. Obviously you can’t both sign up to the same website, but there are many different websites available so it won’t take long before you find someone to trade with you. Our personal recommendation is the eXceem forum.
